Task 1: 30.1.1 Introduction to the History of Advertising

30.01.1
1: Explain what is meant by Tv Advertising.

  • Tv Advertising refers to something that has been produced and paid for by an organization that conveys a message that is intended to market a particular product.

2: View three different contemporary  TV adverts and list Three key characteristics of them.

  • Beyonce Knowles perfume entitled 'Heat'. The USP, I believe is her sole appearance. Her being one of the most iconic woman in the world, alone should be enough to get her product sold. As she has many fans from all over the world, it is deemed sure that this product was predicted to be successful.
  • KFC Advert. This is my all time favorite advert. This is being due to its USP. It uses humor and a jungle to advertise and sale its product. The jingle is still remembered by millions even though the advertisement has seized to be shown on the television.
  • 'We Buy Any Car', insurance advert. This television work so well due to its catch tune that it incorporated. This then went on to be available for people to purchase on ITunes.

  • On an Average day Americans are estimated to be bombarded with 3,000 adverts.
  • They are likely to view these adverts on buses, television, on the floor, supermarkets, phone booths, shelves of their local corner shop and plenty more.
  • The most uttered word within the English word is said to be 'Ok', with 'Coca-Cola'.
  • Leo Bennett believed that the right icon could sale anything to anyone. He also thought that although people couldn't connect to say, cigarettes that they were more likely to relate more to 'Malboro Man'
  • Although advertising as been around for many years, they don't always work effectively. One prime example of this would be the Ford Axel Car. It was said to have failed as the world were not ready for such a futuristic car, within the that particular era.
