Task 2: 30.1.2

Type of Persuasive Techniques
Links to Adverts which uses these techniques
The Anecdote
The Lorrel  hair product advert. The Tag line of ‘Because your worth’ it makes use feel exactly that and adds a personal attachment to the product being sold
Adjectives
Morrisions superstore advert: It suggest that everything sold within that supermarket is as healthy and natural and ever. Especially incorporating a famous sportsman; Freddie Flintoff within suggest, if their products are good enough for him, then they are good enough for us ….’Normal people’
Repetition
A prime example of an advert that uses repetition in order to sale their product, is by far the most annoying advert in the history of advert; Go Compare, car insurance. Although very irritating, this advert works very well. It uses a catchy song, which is also the URL of the company. Next time people will be at their computer, they will remember the URL and are likely to visit it.
Statistics
Dove Body Lotion Adverts: Using what appears as factual information to sale a product works, in my opinion. This advert uses this device when saying things such as ‘95% of woman chose this as their daily body lotion’
Fact
If something is presented as having been proven and it is assumed to be reliable and trustworthy. The NSPCC Children advert is a very effective advert. It’s an emotive production that doesn’t fail to pull on ones heartstrings. Nearly brought a tear to my eyes…. But I’m better than that ;)
