Objective: To be able to extract information from written sources.
What are the Pros of using a Mind
Map?
A mind map
is a helpful technique that helps the user learn more effectively about a
particular subject. For example, using a mind map to help you with revision
will work well, as it’ll give you a clear understanding of what needs to be
learnt and it will help frame you own interpretations of that subject. It is
also a tool that improves the way you record information, as it’s easy to
fabricate and clear to understand. A mind map is very time efficient as, it
allows you to identify and understand the structure of a given subject quickly.
Using a mind
map helps you to remember important information better than most methods. This
is due to your brain processing that information received in the best way your
brain can understand it. Therefore, if you are a visual learner, it may prove
handy to use picture in your mind map.
About Mind Maps
The usage of
mind maps was popularised by Tony Buzan. It’s a two dimensional structure that
helps generate new ideas as they pop into your head at that moment, as opposed
to the traditional listing structure. Using a mind map is especially good for
breaking down large subject or confusing situation in small chunks, therefore
becoming more manageable and easier to solve.
