Eadweard Muybridge
Muybridge was born on the 18th of April 1830 in kingston Upon Thames He was one of father of photography, an English photographer who specialized in Animal Locomotion. In his early life, he was arrested charged with the murder of his wife's former secret lover. However, at the court case he was acquitted of all charges.
He soon began to make his name as photographer. He moved to the United States of America in 1851 to develop his talent further. With the help of former Californian Governor, Leland Standford proving that whether or not all four of the horse's hooves lifted of the ground at the same time during a trot. He did this but a-lining 24 cameras at equal distance from each other and put in place a trip-wire that would trigger the camera's to capture the movement, when the horse's went by. Thus proving his theory.
We used Muybridge's method as inspiration to create our own stop motion picture. We did this by using 6 computers to capture 6 different images, of one movement. E.g 'Iman's Walk' and 'Ruth's Trip'. We then used a website to put the images together, making a short film. On the website, we could slow down or speed up the images to make it as smooth as possible.
The difference between the stop motions produced by the class and that of Muybridge, is undeniably the improvement in technology. I feel that our work was equally as good as his.
FPS is an abbreviation for 'Frames Per Second'. This is the way in which people measure how many shots/pictures are in one frame, literally per second.

Introduction to Animation
Zoetrope.
The Zoetrope was first invented in 180AD by chinese Ting Huan. It is a device that creates the illusion of movement via a rapid successions of still images. Zoetrope could be interpreted as the 'wheel of life'.
It is a cylinder with vertical splits at the sides. The Zoetrope operates according to be presistance of ones vision. Due to the retina in our eyes, we are able to see images when we blink. This is because our retina remember that last piece of visual that it had received and connects it to the next.
Likewise, this is how we are able to visualize the images in the Zoetrope. Due to our retina, us as humans, are unable to tell when one flash stops and a new one begins. As a result we perceive the motion as being consistent. The Zoetrope works because of the separated slots in the cylinder which stimulate flashes as a result of a strobe effect.
Advantages of the Zoetrope.
The Zoetrope is a device that is very easy to operate. Its ideal for people of all ages. It can be used professionally or simply as a means of having some fun. This is circular moving apparatus creates the illusion movement as it rotates round and round. It is also very simple to draw any sort of animation onto the key frames. Anything a bouncing ball and smiley face to more complex things like two people dancing.
Disadvantages of the Zoetrope.
The duration of the 'animation' is very limited because of the drawing on the strip. It may also become boring because of the repetitiveness of the same images being shown on the Zoetrope. Also, in order for the device to work it is imperative that we look through the slots of the Zoetrope as opposed to the top, as the illusion of the movement will be lost.

The Comparison of Two Channel Idents
The first Ident I have chosen is the one of 'ITV One'. Itv is the second biggest television broadcasting company after the BBC. I feel that the channel station itself is aimed to target the older public eg. 20+. I personally, as a teenager, I rarely find enjoyment from watching the ITV One channel. Having said that, on some occasions they do cater to my generation, with programs such as X Factor which most households around the UK watch. I don't particularly believe that this channel is gender specific, however at times it may direct its attention to majority of the Middle classed White population with the sort of programs that they broadcast, such as 'Downtown Abby', 'Foyles War' and more.
